Playing With Words At PFS

A number of North End players have been out helping Playing For Success at PNE continue the Playing With Words Project.
Playing with Words (PWW) is the latest project from Reading the Game - the partnership between the Football Foundation and the National Literacy Trust, working with 36 schools through 12 playing for Success Centres at Football League Clubs.
PWW aims to engage children as readers by providing inspiring reading resources and enhancing reader motivation through the power of football.
The centre at PNE is currently working with English Martyrs Catholic Primary School, Tulketh Community Sports College and Moor Park Business and Enterprise School.
The pupils have been working very hard to improve their reading, making use of the special book boxes provided, in addition to regular deliveries of PNE matchday programmes.
To reward their hard work they were visited by PNE players for question and answer sessions on Tuesday 20th March 2007.
Neil Mellor and Danny Finch visited English Martyrs to discuss the importance of reading and working hard at school - in addition to answering lots of questions about themselves! Tulketh pupils interviewed Callum Davidson and Andrew Murphy, whilst Moor Park worked with Chris Sedgwick, Chris McGrail and Danny Pugh.
A big thank you to all involved who help to make this project such a success!
