David Nugent

David Nugent may have left primary school ten years ago but he was back at school visiting St Gregory's Primary School on Blackpool Road, Preston as a part of his player sponsorship.

Nuge arrived to a school full of eagerly awaiting pupils, most of them PNE fans ready and waiting with their questions for the England ace.

After a quick tour of the School it was time for Nuge to take the hot seat in the main school hall answering questions on his footballing life such as, 'Do you want to play in the Premiership with PNE?' which Nuge replied, 'I would love to get promoted this season with PNE, it would be a dream come true. To play against some of the best players in the world at Deepdale would be fantastic.'

There were many fine questions put to Nuge but the ones that got the biggest laughs were, 'Do you have a girlfriend?' which one little girl from put to the England Striker and 'Which part of a Jellybaby do you eat first?'.

The pupils loved every minute of Nuge being at their school, for having such a highly-rated English youngster to give up his afternoon to spend time answering questions, signing autographs, having pictures taken and having a really friendly chat with everyone, you could quite clearly see it meant a lot to the happy pupils. One little girl from reception class gave Nuge a box for chocolates.

Teacher Mr Brown said: "It was a great pleasure to have David at our school, he is a fine young footballer, and he was fantastic with the pupils, signing player cards for every pupil, even some for relatives at home!

"When the children heard that Nuge was coming to our school, they couldn't wait for the afternoon to come. All day the children were saying, 'Nuge is coming to our school! I'm going to ask him such and such a question'!

"We wish David good luck for the rest of the season and we'll be cheering for him at the next home game as myself and many of the pupils are season ticket holders at Deepdale and we'll be at a match later this month as we have fifty tickets which Forbes Solicitors have kindly donated to us."

David would like to thank Forbes Solicitors for their support and St Gregory's Primary School for inviting him to their wonderful school.

There are still a few players left to sponsor and with new players possibly arriving in the January transfer window, why not take the opportunity to sponsor a player - call 01772 693311 for more info.
