The Preston North End Fans Team returned to winning ways on Saturday morning with a fine comeback inspired by 'supersub' Stuart Bolton.

An astute tactical switch from manager Steve Cowell with just half an hour played proved pivotal, with the Bolton-based teacher coming off the bench with North End trailing 1-0 to net a cameo hat-trick that turned the game in the visitors' favour.

The 3-1 victory capped a fine day for the Fans Team, who - as our photo shows - managed to make the most of their trip to Oakwell, joining in with the fancy dress theme in fine style.

"We went 1-0 down but showed character to come back," claimed boss Cowell, who later appeared on BBC Radio Lancashire as their matchday summariser alongside commetator Phil Cunliffe.

"We were on the back foot, but I knew the only way to get round it was to make changes. That's what I did after about half an hour, and luckily with Stuart performing as he did it all worked out for the best.

"It was obviously a tough call to make but thankfully it worked out and it's nice to get back to winning ways."

The Fans Team are soon to celebrate a major milestone, with their 100th game set to take place on Saturday 24th November at home to Bury. Further details about the game will appear soon via pne.com.
