Upon completing his month-long loan move from Reading, John Halls expressed his delight about the prospect of playing first team football.

With only a handful of appearances for the Royals against Bolton, Swansea and Liverpool this season, the 25-year-old told PNE.Com that he we was looking forward to linking up with his new team mates.

Halls said: "I've been waiting a long time to get out and play a bit of football so it's nice to come here, whether it just be for a month.

"I know a few boys here, Liam Chilvers is a good friend of mine because we played at Arsenal together for all our youth team years. I speak to him quite a lot and he says it is a great Club.

"Preston have always done well, always been there or thereabouts trying to get promotion and there are some great players here.

"It's a pity that someone is injured for others to get opportunities but that is how football works so hopefully I can come and do a job for the month and see what happens.

""I'd love to play as many games as I can, play well and show people what I can still do and just start enjoying playing football again. I've been playing reserve games weekly, so I still feel sharp and fit so hopefully I can slot straight in."
