Andy Carroll spoke exclusively to PNE.Com following the 1-1 home draw against Leicester City. Check out what he had to say below or watch the freeview video to the right...

"It was great when he named the team and I was in it," explained the on-loan forward. "To start the way we did and to get my goal is just fantastic and the lads played well so I think we deserved something out of the game so we've done well.

"It did come as a surprise but I've been working hard in training, been knuckling down so I'm glad I got the start.

"We've been working on set pieces today in training so it was just perfect because I didn't have to move or jump, it was straight on my head and straight in.

"Tonight was difficult and the ref made it more difficult, giving fouls which I didn't think were but I just had to keep going. I think we should have won but we got a point out of it at the end."
