$2m Plus Bid Rejected
North End Chairman Derek Shaw has told PNE.Com that a deal for USA international striker Taylor Twellman looks 'dead in the water', after the MLS rejected an improved offer from the Lilywhites for the New England Revolution frontman.
Speaking to the official site on Friday morning the PNE Chief said: "We upped our initial offer for Taylor Twellman yesterday to a guaranteed $2m, with more based on incentives.
"However, we have had word back overnight that the MLS are not looking to do business and not willing to accept our offer. The deal now looks dead in the water and we are moving on to other targets."
A deal for Twellman would have taken PNE's spending past £2.75m in the last week, but Alan Irvine and the Board must now move on to other things after receiving word of the American organisation's stance.
