Full-Time: Jeez, that was something else. The away revival continues. and the yellow shirted men are delighted. Though the home areas are pretty sparse, not a single North Ender has left. What a place to come and take three points - just a shame our next game is at home now! We'll be with you again for that one - Wolves come to Deepdale on Tuesday evening. Have a good night!

90 + 3 mins: Last gasp drama as Lonergan saves a thumping low shot from Holland. It proves to be the last act as the full time whistle blows - yeeeeeesssssss!!!

90 + 3 mins: Half the home fans have left - eerie.

90 + 2 mins: "We are the North End boys" cry the extremely loud fellows to my right.

90 + 1 mins: Great stuff from Matt Hill, taking on the full backs and wasting time in the corner with aplomb.

90 mins: The board goes up to indicate there will be a further three minutes of stoppage time.

88 mins: Substitution for PNE - Whaley's hard work is at an end, with Matt Hill on to add to the defensive effort.

85 mins: From the resulting 25-yard free kick, Lonergan gets across his goal well to save a curling shot from Ambrose.

84 mins: Mawene takes out Iwelumo in a fashion akin to the game they don't play here any more - rugby league.

83 mins: Darren Ambrose curls one just over the top.

82 mins: Substitution for Charlton - Halford off, Chris Iwelumo on.

81 mins: Sedge chests it down to Brown, and his long range hat-trick effort is only millimetres away.

79 mins: Great persistance from Mellor wins a corner, but converting from set plays is the one thing we haven't done so far.

78 mins: I've never heard a more crestfallen goal announcement over the PA than the one that greeted that strike.

77 mins: Goal for PNE! We didn't have to wait much longer for Brown's second - turning brilliantly upon collecting Whaley's left wing cross and smashing it home from the middle of the box. Get in! 1-2

76 mins: Brown 'does a Gazza' in flicking the ball over McCarthy, and it takes a great block from the defender to deny the tall hitman his second.

75 mins: Goal for Charlton! It's probably undeserved, but the Addicks have levelled with Paddy McCarthy stabbing the ball through Lonergan's legs from close range after Gray headed Holland's cross back into the mixer. 1-1

73 mins: Leroy Lita bursts into life, and it takes a solid block from Mawene to keep out his rasper.

71 mins: Substitution for PNE - Tamas Priskin's debut ends without a goal, which is a shame because he seems to have done enough to earn one. Maybe his replacement Neil Mellor can stick one in for us.

69 mins: The 'feeesshh' advert is back, it's brilliant.

68 mins: Carter's set piece is nearly headed home by St Ledger, Whaley gets a second bite of the cherry but can't convert, and the ball is cleared.

67 mins: Odd stuff from the ref, as he penalises a fairly standard challenge from Brown. He seems to pick and choose what he wants to give as a foul. As soon as Preston clear they win a dead ball of their own as Priskin's charge is blocked.

64 mins: Some of the Charlton fans are so fed up with their own team's performance that they're now cheering our every pass. Bizarre! I think they could even be heard singing 'Come on Preston'!

62 mins: 25,124 is the all-important crowd figure this afternoon.

60 mins: Priskin breaks clear of the backline again, and looks set to score until a crucial one-handed block from Weaver.

59 mins: Brown gets round the back of Sodje after a great ball from Sedgwick, and only a good old thumping interception from Halford prevents the pass from finding its intended target in the centre. Unfortunately the resulting corner is over-hit, as a number of the last few have been.

55 mins: Ah, the sun's finally coming out. Hopefully that'll mean my laptop stops getting rained on. Either that or we'll soon see a rainbow.

54 mins: Jones is ushered back on, with the North End fans at the other end of the ground to his current defensive position welcoming back with a continual wall of sound. They're singing something derogitory about Blackpool.

52 mins: Lonergan comes to collect in great style, but in doing so he tramples on Billy Jones' head, which I can only imagine is very painful.

49 mins: Brown has started the second half in great fashion, helping out defensively and then heading forward to provide great service for Whaley. The winger's shot deflects high off Sodje's prone torso, and Sedgwick is unlucky as he can't quite stretch far enough to poke in the loose ball.

1604: Play resumes.

1603: Substitution for Charlton - a half-time switch for the hosts sees Luke Varney head off, with Andy Gray coming into the action.

45 + 3 mins: More boos - as the half-time whistle goes. Great stuff. Don't forget to tune in on World if you haven't already done so... send us an e-mail or two as well!

45 mins: There will be three minutes of added time at the end of this half.

44 mins: PNE remain the more composed side, stroking the ball around in great confidence.

39 mins: Whaley's taken up a role on the left today, and he seems to be a continually latent threat, emerging sporadically to good effect. He bursts into life down the centre this time, and hammers an ambitious long-range shot over the top.

37 mins: Another orange-booted man, Scott Sinclair, aids the belief that the brighter the footwear, the more likely it'll let you down, as he launches a shot in the general direction of the corner flag.

34 mins: More attacking prowess from the visitors. Brown holds off McCarthy and lays a ball back towards Sedgwick and Carter. The latter was probably better placed to strike, but the former got their first and stabbed a shot over the bar.

32 mins: More boos. One number 25 - Greg Halford - plays a recklessly careless ball to the other number 25 - Priskin - and he's only let off the hook when the Slovakian-born player gets a little too ambitious with his shot.

29 mins: Priskin keeps catching the eye every time he produces a silky touch, but then again he's bound to - he's wearing orange boots.

28 mins: A giant line-clearing hoof from Callum falls disappointingly short of landing in the upper tier of the main stand, which is a fair way up.

25 mins: Just so you know, about 10% of the action is lost on me, because it takes place down the nearside which is out of my view due to the height of the perimeter wall at the front of the tier. I need to grow another inch or two for the next time I come.

22 mins: The home fans are a little more enthused by a left footed piledriver from Youga that squirms narrowly wide of Lonergan's far post.

20 mins: Boos from the hosts as PNE take the Addicks apart again. Priskin flicks the ball over the last line of defence with pure class, and had the ball landed on Carter's left foot rather than his right, he probably would have scored, but instead he ruffles the outside of the netting.

16 mins: Play takes a while to resume while Sodje and McCarthy seek treatment due to knocks sustained in unsuccessfully defending that last PNE attack.

15 mins: Goal for PNE! The change rocks Charlton, who are all at sea as Sedgwick wins a tussle on the edge of the box, squares it to Carter, and he elects not to attempt another wondergoal as he glides it through for Brown to chase. He says 'thanks very much', draws out the keeper, and smashes it right footed into the top left corner. 0-1

14 mins: Substitution for Charlton - Lloyd Sam took a knock in Preston's last move and is replaced by Scott Sinclair.

13 mins: An amusing contribution from the fans. An advert for fish supplies on the big screen is accompanied by a cry of 'feeessshhh' every time it shows a small net trying to snare a goldfish. A welcome hangover from the days of the legendary Mark Fish here at The Valley.

12 mins: Good end-to-end stuff here. Lonners is called upon to block a shot and collect a cross, before play switches straight to the other end of the field. Brown holds it up well, finds Sedgwick, and the winger's cross is headed just over by Priskin.

10 mins: We nearly saw it with Beattie on Tuesday night, and we nearly saw it again this afternoon with Tamas Priskin. The new boy glides round the back of Kelly Youga and is one-on-one with keeper Nicky Weaver, but chips the ball into the side netting rather than the back of the netting.

9 mins: Luke Varney thumps in an angled shot, which Mawene blocks, turning it away for a corner.

6 mins: The ground is probably around 90-95% full this afternoon, thanks to a special price promotion that sees adult tickets reduced to £15. Excellent value at normal London prices.

3 mins: Charlton hit back with a corner of their own, Darren Ambrose eventually receiving possession on the edge of the box and firing a shot just wide of target.

1 min: PNE win a corner right from the off. Positive start.

1501: Away we go.

1458: The Addicks are involved in the weirdest warm-up I've ever seen, with all 11 players all kitted out and putting in little formation runs near the corner flag.

1457: The teams are out - with a change for PNE. Liam Chilvers has suffered an injury in the warm up, so Billy Jones comes in at right back, with Sean St Ledger taking over the vacancy in the middle. Neal Trotman, meanwhile, takes up a slot on the bench.

1455: If you've ever wondered why this ground is called The Valley - it's because it's carved into the side of one. The last minute straddlers are rushing down a large flight of steps that leads down the hill into the stand on the far side.

1453: Even though the roof overhangs a long way in this stand, we're currently getting rained on!

1451: A giant flag is currently being passed around the stands - the view won't be very good underneath.

1441: New boy Priskin is looking sharp in the warm-up - let's hope he carries it over to the game.

1438: Still keeping an eye on United v Pompey. The Reds are battering them, but they're having no luck.

1437: The Valley's press section is weird. We're penned into funny little 'pods', which you have to climb into, slide the desk surface across, and then set out all your kit. Any thought of heading to the toilet is out of the question once you're in.

1430: We're about to start our World coverage any moment, so tune in if you have access!

1426: The teams are in - cutting it fine with our Whites World coverage starting so soon. PNE welcome one new face, and one old, with Callum Davidson in at left back in place of Matt Hill and Tamas Priskin joining the front line in place of Craig Beattie.

PNE: Lonergan, St Ledger, Chilvers, Mawene, Davidson, Whaley, McKenna (capt), Carter, Sedgwick, Brown, Priskin. Subs: Chris Neal, Lewis Neal, Jones, Hill, Mellor.

Charlton: Weaver, Halford, Sodje, McCarthy, Youga, Sam, Zhi. Holland (capt), Ambrose, Varney, Lita. Subs: Elliott, Gray, Iwelumo, Sinclair, Semedo.

1423: Great fun here - they've got the Man Utd game on the big screen and we've just seen the controversial red card and Pompey opener at Old Trafford. The crowd at The Valley love it, but you can't help thinking that Portsmouth have been very jammy throughout this cup run..!

1414: Welcome to The Valley for this afternoon's big game. It's Adrian Ward here on minute-by-minute duty this afternoon in south east London.
