Preston North End striker Neil Mellor was the top-scoring player on this week's Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Coca-Cola Championship.

The former Liverpool frontman earned an impressive 48 points after scoring twice in the 3-1 defeat of Sheffield United, to secure his place in the Actim Index team of the week.

It was Mellor's second-best match score of the season, falling just short of his 49-point haul in the win at Burnley in December.

Mellor rose 49 places to 270th in the overall standings as a result. North End have two players in the current top 100 - Andy Lonergan (25th) and Youl Mawene (59th).
