Priskin Returns To Vicarage Road
Tamas Priskin has returned to parent club Watford after manager Aidy Boothroyd opted to recall the striker following a one-month loan deal at Deepdale.
The Hungarian international linked-up with North End prior to the victory at Charlton and netted two goals in five appearances for the Lilywhites.
Priskin's opener against Burnley set North End on their way to a 2-1 victory over their Lancashire rivals just over a fortnight ago whilst the 21-year-old also found the target on Saturday at Loftus Road.
Speaking about Priskin's departure back to Vicarage Road, Alan Irvine said: "I had a conversation with Aidy at lunchtime today and he has said that he wants to recall Tamas. Obviously I respect that fully because it was always going to be Aidy's decision.
"I'd like to thank him for allowing Tamas to come in the first place and I'd like to thank Tamas for his efforts while he has been here and I wish both of them all the best for the rest of the season.
"I'd have taken two goals from him when he first agreed to come to us on loan and they have been big goals so I'm really pleased with what he has done for us."
Following Priskin's return to Vicarage Road, Alan Irvine could face further striker problems as he awaits news on the extent of Neil Mellor's hamstring injury.
The in-form striker was forced to withdraw from the draw 2-2 with QPR at half-time with a tight hamstring after he had opened the scoring with a close-range volley.
One option that the Gaffer could have is to recall Brett Ormerod from his loan deal with Nottingham Forest, although he admits he will look at the situation later in the week.
He added: "It's something that I'm going to have to consider. I've not spoken to Colin Calderwood yet or Brett and I need to contact both of them and make them aware that there's a possibility that we may have to call him back. But we'll look at that towards the end of the week."
