90 + 3 mins - The referee ends what has been an exciting game here at Deepdale this afternoon. A draw is probably a fair result but it's unclear yet whether the 2-2 draw is enough to give Ipswich hope of scraping into the Play-Off spots on the final weekend of the season.

90 mins - Three minutes of injury time is to be played.

89 mins - David Wright's long range effort isn't too far over as Ipswich go in search of a winner.

87 mins - Goal for Ipswich. Jonathan Walters neatly tucks the ball past Andy Lonergan to level the scores. Jim Magilton is jumping about and encourages his troops to get the ball back to the centre-circle for an immediate restart.

86 mins - Brian on the tannoy announces that today's crowd is 14,187 and that Neil Mellor is the man-of-the-match.

83 mins - Alan Lee hits a speculative shot that was nowhere near troubling Andy Lonergan. Ironic cheers ring out round Deepdale as it lands in the empty seats dividing the home and away support.

78 mins - Goal for Preston. An immediate impact by Simon Whaley as he whips in a delightful inswinging cross which finds its way through to Neil Mellor. The in-form hitman takes his time before slotting the ball into the top of the net from just six-yards out. Get in!

77 mins - Lewis Neal makes way for Simon Whaley in Alan Irvine's first change of the afternoon.

73 mins - Richard Chaplow's cross-shot is just out of reach for Neil Mellor who was unmarked six-yards out.

72 mins - Alan Lee is furious that referee Ilderton hasn't awarded Ipswich a penalty. From up here it looked like Neal Trotman won the ball cleanly but the Ipswich fans vent their frustration at the decision.

71 mins - Chris Brown is inches away from grabbing his second of the game as Sedgwick whips in a beautful cross from his native right touchline. The big man is just edged out by Jason De Vos who got to the ball first.

68 mins - How has Alan Quinn not scored there! Alan Lee delivered an inviting low cross but somehow the tricky number 25 couldn't turn the ball in from a matter of yards.

67 mins - Neil Mellor shows a fantastic turn of pace to skin Alex Bruce before smashing a low angled effort which Bywater had to deal with.

65 mins - Jim Magilton opts for a change in attack. Alan Lee is introduced and Danny Haynes is withdrawn. Jonathan Breeze, sat alongside myself, states that Lee has scored 11 goals this season so North End will have to be cautious.

62 mins - Ipswich are applying a bit of pressure. This time Jason De Vos rises like a salmon to latch onto Garvan's deep free-kick. No one can get on the end of his knock down and it is put behind for a corner.

59 mins - The Ipswich supporters gathered in the Bill Shankly Kop thought that Pablo Counago had put them back in the lead. They looked to the linesman who has his flag raised for offside and their are cheers stopped accordingly.

55 mins - Alan Quinn can't keep his left-foot drive down and it drifts over the bar. Lonergan seemed to have it covered in any case.

53 mins - Chaplow can't repeat his goalscoring antics from last week as he drills wide having been set-up by his midfield compatriot Paul McKenna.

49 mins - Walters heads back to Quinn however his thumping effort from just outside the box is a few inches wide of Andy Lonergan's goal. A lively start to the second half by the visitors
.

47 mins - Agony for the Ipswich fans. Counago latched on to a neat pass inside the box but his delicate finish hits the upright and trickles across the goaline and out to safety.

16.04 - Both sets of players are back out and the second half gets underway...

45 mins - One minute of injury time indicated by the fourth official. The minute is played out and referee Ilderton blows for half-time.

42 mins - Lonergan holds well from a testing Alan Quinn strike.

41 mins - Neil Mellor takes a tumble inside the area but there are no real claims for a penalty.

39 mins - Chris Brown could have doubled his tally for the afternoon and put Preston in the lead but the influential number nine misplaces his header and it lands on the roof of the net rather than inside. It was a pin point left-footed cross from Chris Sedgwick but the former Norwich man couldn't quite  guide it under the bar.

35 mins - Goal for Preston. Chris Brown's deflected shot from outside the box puts North End level. I think it hit Jason De Vos on the way through as Bywater was completely wrong footed. Anyhow, the main thing is that PNE are back in the game and deservedly so.

33 mins - A fine move involving the vast majority of the Preston players earns North End a corner on the right. McKenna's delivery is claimed by Bywater, who has been heavily involved in the opening half.

31 mins - How did that not go in! Firstly Stephen Bywater produces a fine point blank save to repel a Neil Mellor drive and then Chris Sedgwick's follow-up is deflected wide. A promising move by the Lilywhites.

25 mins - We are still to see a cameo by the infamous Deepdale press box wasp. The nasty creature had been tormenting us throughout the early part of the season but has so far failed to re-appear since the turn of the year. Meanwhile out the pitch there's a little confrontation between Andy Lonergan and Jon Walters but the referee sorts out what was nothing more than a disagreement.

22 mins - Richard Chaplow, fresh from his last minute equaliser at Plymouth last weekend, has a decent effort saved by Bywater from around the penalty spot mark. Paul McKenna, Lewis Neal and Neil Mellor combined to tee up the number four with Mells chesting the ball down expertly.

20 mins - Ipswich manager Jim Magilton is out bellowing instructions to his team. I'm not too sure who designed his tracksuit but it's not the best I've seen. A dull grey number more associated with a rainy day in December than a sunny afternoon in spring.

18 mins - Chris Brown acrobatically tries to volley North End level but he didn't connect purely and Bywater collects comfortably.

16 mins - A good flowing move involving Paul McKenna and Richard Chaplow sets up a run at goal for Lewis Neal. The left-winger drifted into the box but  couldn't quite pick out a pass to Neil Mellor.

12 mins - Goal for Ipswich. Tommy Miller scores against Preston again, smashing in a low skidding effort that flew just past the outstretched hand of Lonergan and into the corner of the net.

11 mins - Andy Lonergan at his absolute best! The North End keeper gets a strong palm to save Quinn's far post header. The chance came about from great work by Danny Haynes down the right-wing.

8 mins - Jon Walters gets in behind the Preston defence, however there is no one on the end of his left-winged pull-back.

4 mins - Trotman shows his capabilities in the air by launching a mammoth header into touch. A great attribute on the former Oldham man.

2 mins - Neal Trotman almost makes a fantastic start on his home debut. The big centre-half arrived late onto a floated Paul McKenna free-kick but couldn't get enough purchase on his header.

15.00 - I'm back off Whites World duty just in time for kick-off. Jonathan Walters and Tommy Miller start the game.

14.34 - Perfect playing condtions here in Preston, not too hot and not too cold. The sun has been out but it's hidden behind a cloud or two at the moment.

14.31 - The new Scholars are set to be introduced to the Deepdale crowd. Hopefully there is a gem or two in the group that can go on to forge a long and succesful career with Preston North End.

PNE: Lonergan, Hart, Trotman, Mawene, Davidson, Sedgwick, McKenna, Chaplow, Lewis Neal, Brown, Mellor (Subs: Hawley, Carter, Whaley, Hill, Chris Neal)

Ipswich: Bywater, De Vos, Bruce, Simpson, Wright, Walters, Quinn, Garvan, Miller, Counago, Haynes (Subs: Colgan, Lee, Sumulkoski, Sito, Kuqi)

14.20 - The teams are in. North End make three changes from last week's draw at Plymouth with Neal Trotman, Michael Hart and Chris Brown named in the starting XI. Karl Hawley drops to the bench but there is no room for Craig Beattie.

14.10 - Fellow media colleague Adrian Ward is out and about on the Deepdale pitch conducting the mascot parade. All the past mascots from home games this season have been invited to receive certificates and medals as souvenirs of their day out. The injured Sean St Ledger is on hand to present the mementos.

13.36 - A bumper crowd is expected this afternoon and there should be a cracking atmosphere. There are still tickets available so if you don't fancy watching Geoff Stelling and company on Sky Sports, get yourself down to Deepdale.

13.35 - The home fans could get a good look at Michael Hart and Neal Trotman this afternoon with the pair expected to start in defence. Craig Beattie is back with Preston too after recovering from a hamstring tear that was expected to rule him out for the season, so he might get a run-out also.

13.30 - Good afternoon and welcome to PNE.Com's minute-by-minute service of Preston North End versus Ipswich Town. It should prove to be a fascinating afternoon with the PNE players looking to put on a show in the final home game of the season. The Tractor Boys on the otherhand know that a win could see them sneak into the Play-Off positions.
