The Fans Team make one last lengthy journey this weekend as they prepare for a Bank Holiday double away to west country opponents Bristol City and Yeovil.

You'd need a room full of calculators to tally up the number of miles amassed by the PNE pioneers this season, but come rain or shine, highs or lows, Steve Cowell's charges have been taking full advantage of the first team's away days by turning them all into 'double headers' with their own game against the opposition's supporters preceding the main event.

Their efforts have been greatly appreciated by the Club, with the team proving a credit to Preston North End as they offer a sporting handshake to our opponents - and handily enough they tend to beat them too!

"It's certainly a packed weekend for us," admitted Cowell, who takes his men to Bristol City on Saturday and Yeovil on Sunday, before making the trip back to Ashton Gate to cheer on the first team. "However, it's a fitting way to end our season.

"It's been a long campaign for everybody connected with PNE and the same goes with us. Having travelled over 6000 miles playing against other Championship supporters' teams, the lads have certainly done their fair share of travelling this season, but we thought we would finish this season in style by playing two respected sides over the course of the final weekend.

"Hopefully we won't be too hungover after our end of the season night out round Bristol on Saturday night, and will be aiming to put up a good show at Yeovil, who are hosting us at their first team training ground, which we're looking forward to greatly.

"Last week's 6-1 beating of Ipswich has put the lads in good heart for these two games, and with the Supporters' World Cup held in Leeds in July not far off, the lads see this as a good opportunity to finish this season on a high before they make their way across the Pennies for the big event."

In previous years, the Fans Team has lined up against some exotic sides from all over the globe as part of their World Cup campaign, but this year they'll face some more familiar faces in Group 4 as they take on Gillingham, Nottingham Forest and York City.
