The Insider
North End may be safe but there are still more than 10 teams hoping that they may or may not be in the Championship next season. Here's the Insider's big tips for the final weekend of the season.
Blackpool 15/8 Draw 2/1 Watford 8/5
Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd reckons that he will know the scores of all the other games around the Championship, whether that helps the Hornets hang on to their Play-Off spot remains to be seen. Watford simply need to win to stay in the top six, Blackpool will be sweating if that happens as they need a point to ensure their Championship survival.
Verdict: Away win
Bristol City Evens Draw 23/10 Preston 11/4
It's been described as a 'dead-rubber' by many but the Robins will want their Play-Off second-leg to be on home soil and a win will ensure that. Equally Alan Irvine wants his side's season to end on a high, they've suffered just one defeat in their last ten and have looked good away from home.
Verdict: Draw
Crystal Palace 4/9 Draw 10/3 Burnley 6/1
Palace have done fantastically well to reach the top six, timing their run to perfection. They'll complete the job if they manage to grab a home win over an injury ravaged Clarets outfit. Burnley have nothing other than pride to play for and probably won't fancy what is one of the less appealing away trips.
Verdict: Home win
Cardiff 10/11 Draw 9/4 Barnsley 11/4
Cardiff won this one at Wembley a few weeks back, there's less at stake for this one and after Barnsley secured their place in the Championship for next season they will play with a little more freedom at Ninian Park. Davey's side might just have revenge on their minds when they go to Wales.
Verdict: Away win
Charlton 8/5 Draw 11/5 Coventry 6/4
Charlton have blown their Play-Off chances in spectacular style and their home form has been one of the main reasons for their downfall. Coventry have plenty to play for, their Championship futures for one, they're only two points clear of the dreaded dropzone, so will they freeze under the pressure or be inspired?
Verdict: Away win
Ipswich 11/8 Draw 5/2 Hull City 7/4
Does the fact that Ipswich need to win help Hull City's cause? Both teams will be going for it in what will be a real do-or-die affair and a win may not even help either side's cause in the bigger picture. There might be plenty of goals but I think this will be a draw.
Verdict: Draw
QPR 12/5* Draw 12/5 West Brom 11/10
Unless Hull City win by something like 12-0 then West Brom's Premiership future is more than secure. A party in London's West End is what awaits Tony Mowbray's side, they might just celebrate with a few goals at Loftus Road.
Verdict: Away win
Scunthorpe 10/11 Draw 12/5 Colchester 3/1
Both teams consigned to League One weeks ago have nothing more than pride to play for. The rebuilding work for both teams starts straight away and Colchester are rock-bottom, eight points adrift but they might just have a point to prove.
Verdict: Away win
Sheffield Wednesday 8/11* Draw 5/2 Norwich 4/1
Owls and Canaries. One thing's for sure there will certainly be plenty of hearts-a-flutter if Wednesday don't get a positive result at Hillsborough. Brian Laws' side need a win to ensure safety and of the relegation threatened teams they have the easiest game on paper. I tipped the Owls to go down earlier in the season but they might just have done enough to escape.
Verdict: Home win
Southampton 5/4 Draw 13/5 Sheffield United 15/8
Nigel Pearson's Saints have it all to do. They know that even a win on Sunday might not be enough to keep them up. They could have done without Sheffield United still having a mathematical chance of the Play-Offs. Kevin Blackwell's side are one of the form teams in the division and the Blades might just cut Southampton adrift for good.
Verdict: Away win
Stoke 5/6 Draw 12/5* Leicester 7/2*
The biggest game of the day by some margin. When 90 minutes are up both teams could be escaping the Championship at opposite ends of the table. Stoke only need a draw to be certain of promotion, that draw might also be enough to keep the Foxes up.
Verdict: Draw
Wolves 4/7 Draw 11/4* Plymouth 5/1
If Palace and Watford slip-up then Wolves are in pole-position to take advantage and reach the Play-Offs for the second season in succession. Plymouth have nothing to play for and Ebanks-Blake will be keen to put one over on his former club and claim the top scorers title in the Championship.
Verdict: Home win
A £1 12-fold on all of the above tips pays out an impressive 90630/1
