PNE fans have been descending on Deepdale in their hundreds to secure their season tickets for the 2008/09 season after they went on sale on Tuesday morning, with the Club recording as many sales before lunchtime on day one as they achieved in the whole of the first week last season.

Indeed, sales by early afternoon were so strong that they'd already overtaken the entire first week of sales for the equivalent period last season, showing that the Preston faithful look determined to back Alan Irvine's men in great number throughout next season.

Among those in the queue to secure his seat was Mick Metcalfe, pictured, from Preston, who renewed a pair of seats for himself and his son, Jack, in the Alan Kelly Town End.

He was pleased with Preston's new pricing policy, explaining:

"I've paid a little bit more for my seat this year, but my son's seat was only £69, which is great. I've been a season ticket holder for 14 years, and I think that if we can get a striker who can stick the ball in the onion bag on a regular basis we'll be in for a good season."

Also happy with PNE's new pricing policy was Mr Lawson of Penwortham, who can now take advantage of a new senior citizens' rate in the premium section of the Sir Tom Finney Stand. He admitted:

"I've been writing to the Club for years telling them that there should be a concessionary rate for senior citizens in the premium area, and I've delighted that they've listened. I'm going to have to go home now and write Derek Shaw a letter to thank him!

"I'd like to think that other fans in my situation can now take advantage of the new pricing, knowing that they won't have to pay the full rate any more."

Mr Seed from Longridge was also in the queue as he looked to move from the Sir Tom Finney Stand to the Alan Kelly Town End for a change of scenery. He claimed:

"Alan Irvine has done very well since he came here and I'm optimistic he can continue to inspire the team to bigger and better things."

With junior prices starting from just £69 and new concessionary rates for the over 60s and those in the 16 to 20-year-old bracket, now's the time to secure your seat and enjoy being part of the next chapter with Alan Irvine and co.
