PNE To Learn Fixture Fate
Preston fans anxiously waiting to pen our 2008/09 Championship fixtures into their diaries can at least make one entry today - the actual date that the fixtures are set to be unveiled!
The Football League has confirmed that the new campaign's schedule will be released on Monday 16th June at 10am, with all fixture information available at that point.
PNE will face new but familiar league opposition in the form of Derby County, who we beat 4-1 in the FA Cup at Pride Park back in January. The relegated side will be joined in this division by any two from Birmingham, Reading, Fulham and Bolton, while West Brom and Stoke will be vacating this division, to be joined by the Play-Off winners, namely Hull, Bristol City, Crystal Palace or Watford.
Heading in the opposite direction are relegated sides Colchester, Scunthorpe and Leicester, with their places taken by Swansea City, Nottingham Forest, and one from the Play-Off mix of Doncaster, Carlisle, Leeds and Southend.
Of course, the dates everyone will be itching to discover are the big derby days against Blackpool and Burnley, which will take place on... well, you'll just have to come back at 10am on Monday 16th June to find out!
SMS subscribers will be the first to learn the big dates with an exclusive alert vibrating its way to your inbox before the fixtures are released online.
