Alan Irvine has saluted the 'feel good factor' at Preston North End over the weeks since the Club secured their Championship status for the forthcoming season.

Season ticket sales for the new campaign have soared while orders for the new home shirt have also reached high figures.

And with the Invincibles Pavilion showing further signs of completion by the day, paired with the re-development work on the training ground pitches, Irvine acknowledged the optimism circulating around Deepdale at the present time.

However, he explained that he hoped the trend would continue throughout the pre-season and into August, with his side getting off to a flier in the Championship.

The PNE boss said: "Every fan that I have bumped into has been positive and optimistic and that's great.

"It's terrific that everyone has gone away from what was a very traumatic season feeling good and positive and obviously looking forward to next season.

"We are all looking forward to next season on the playing side, and it would appear that the fans are as well.

"Let's hope that we can get off to a good start and keep that momentum going because it's a powerful tool if you have a lot of people feeling very positive and optimistic and it's amazing how far that can carry you."
