Club captain Paul McKenna is in his 12th season for North End and after making his debut back in 1997 his tally of appearances has now well passed the 400-game mark.
The midfielder is already Preston North End's longest serving current player and already well on the way to being among the elite of players who have played the most times in the famous Lilywhite shirts of PNE, but he's set his target on breaking all the records.
McKenna's intelligent passing and total commitment in the centre of the park have made him a favourite amongst fans and players alike and he is a regular contender for goal of the season with some stunning strikes.
He was voted the PFA Player of the season award at the end the 2004/05 season after 35 appearances and three goals.
Last season ended in disappointment for the Chorley-born player, not only at missing out on the Play-Offs but at missing the last two months of the season with a groin problem.
However, he recovered from the injury in time to make a first team return in October 2007, and was named Club captain in one of Paul Simpson's last acts as PNE manager. McKenna has missed just one game since being handed the captain's armband, and the side's performances have improved steadily under his leadership as he continues to recapture his form of old.
