Last season was one to forget for Jason Jarrett who made just six appearances.

After starting the first five games of the season his omission from the 16 man squad that took on Southampton spelt the beginning of the end for the former Wigan man.

He went on to make just one more appearance before finding himself well down the pecking order. He went on to enjoy loan spells at Hull and Leicester before being placed on the transfer list at the end of the season.

Jason Jarrett arrived on loan, from Norwich, in March, and his deal was made permanent at the end of the season.

The man from Bury started his career at Blackpool before spells at Wrexham and Bury but it was Wigan where he enjoyed the most success after signing for a fee of £75000.

He enjoyed promotion to both the Championship and Premiership with the Latics before making the decision to reject a new contract to play in the Premiership and sign for Norwich.

After starting the season as first choice, things didn't quite go according to plan and in November he joined Plymouth on loan, following the arrival of Dickson Etuhu from North End.

He returned to Carrow Road in January, where ironically his first league appearance was against Argyle at Home Park.

Just two more appearances followed for Nigel Worthington's men before Jarrett returned to the North West to sign for Preston, making his debut in a goalless draw unsurprisingly away at Plymouth.

He went on to make 11 appearances, scoring one goal before signing a three year contract in the summer on 2006.
