TravelWise is a national campaign that encourages people to make better use of cars and promotes the use of public transport, cycling and walking. Lancashire County Council signed up to TravelWise in 1995. TravelWise is not anti-car and we know that sometimes the car will be the best form of transport for the journey that you wish to make. However we also know how easy it is to fall into the trap of using the car for every journey. For example, many of us are guilty of jumping into a car for a short trip that could be walked in ten minutes.

TravelWise aims to show how you can benefit by sometimes leaving the car at home and choosing the alternatives. If you do decide to use the car, we will show you how to use it better.
