Great Numbers At YNE Bingo
There might not have been two little ducks, just the one, but the Young Northenders annual bingo night was hailed as the best ever after fans, young and old, turned out in their numbers.
The Club run a number of YNE events throughout the year and the bingo night has proven to be one of the most popular in recent years and Wednesday night's was no different. There was some great prizes won and the funds raised go towards providing plenty more special events for Preston North End's young fans.
Speaking about the success of the night Preston North End's Community Development Manager Gary Robinson said: "It was a fantastic night attended by over 100 people who all had lots of fun, everybody enjoyed themselves. We raised an amazing amount of money, the highest we have ever taken in any event in the four years that I have been here and I think that's a credit to everybody who was involved.
"There were some outstanding prizes, the Club provided a couple of season tickets and we are really grateful for that. It wasn't just the YNE's who turned up, the age range was fantastic, we had the youngsters who are just getting into football right through to your more senior ages. It was great to see everyone turning out to help out the Young Northenders.
"This sets the benchmark, we are going to be doing more events, we've got one more event this season which is the end of season party. Next season we will be doing a lot more events, bigger and better, we'll be making it more fun.
"I'd just like to thank all the YNE staff who helped make the event a success and I'd also like to thank the Parkfield Labour Club in Ashton for the use of their rooms."
The next YNE event is the end of season party which starts at 1.30pm on Saturday April 26th with a full day of events including a chance to meet the players after the game. For more info call Gary on 0870 442 1964
