Preston North End's Irish duo, Conor McLaughlin and Scott Davidson have been selected for the forthcoming Under 17 European Championship Elite Round.

The pair have been picked to play for Kenny Shiels' Northern Ireland side in the final rounds of the prestigious tournament which takes place in Northern Ireland between the dates of 16th-23rd March.

Northern Ireland will play Scotland, Slovenia and Wales over the course of the week and there could be further North End interest in the tournament as youngster Sam Hart is expected to be named in the Wales squad for the competition.

All three players will become first year scholars at Preston North End for the 2008/09 campaign.
